MUKAH: The Tua Pek Kong Mukah Temple here has witnessed the ‘awakening’ of six lions.

This was followed when the lion’s eyes are dotted during the Lion’s Eye-Dotting Ceremony at the temple today (Jan 27).

Mukah Dragon, Lion, and Wushu Association chairman Ho Ing Siong mentioned that the eye dotting ceremony is often held annually, especially during the Chinese New Year festive season.

“Today, we are glad to be able to witness the dotting of the six lion eyes,” he said when met.

After the lions were ‘brought to life’, the troupe performed the lion dance using the new lions.

“This lion brings protection, blessings, health, and prosperity,” Ho added.

Meanwhile, also present was the Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Chong Boon headmaster Chua Boh Soon.
