KUCHING: Police arrested a recycling factory manager for buying stolen property and two suspects for stealing a fire hydrant metal cover.
Padawan police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said two male suspects aged 18 and 24, both from Kampung Segedup were caught riding on a motorcycle after stealing the metal cover at Taman Desa Wira, Batu Kawa at 9.45am on Wednesday.
Aidil said at 4.30pm on the same day, police went to Kampung Segedup and arrested the duo who led them to the buyer of the metal. Both admitted to stealing the metal cover and were on drugs. They also said they sold the cover for RM25.80.
At 5.20pm, police went to a recycling factory at Mile 5, Kong Ping Road and arrested the 42-year-old manager. The suspect from Taman Rasaja Batu, 17, Siburan admitted to buying the metal cover from the duo.
