KUCHING: Bau district will have three big events simultaneously namely 60th Anniversary of Bau District Council, Earth Breaking of Bau District Office Complex, and Tasik Biru Bau Fiesta 2017 starting from 22 till 24 September.
This was announced by Minister for Local Government and Housing, Professor Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, during a press conference at the ministry’s office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya, here yesterday.
“We are expecting about 5,000 people to attend the launching ceremony as well as the earth breaking ceremony which will be official declared open by Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on 23 September,” said Sim.
Various activities are planned. These include sports and game competitions, booth sales, exhibition by various agencies, lucky draws, beauty pageant contest, colouring contest and others.
Expected to attend the launching ceremony are Tasik Biru Assemblyman, Dato Henry Harry Jinep, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry, Dato’ Anthony Nogeh Gumbek, and Sim.
Meanwhile, the closing ceremony on 24 September will be graced by Nogeh and to be attended by the Tasik Biru rep and Bau District Officer who is also the organising chairman of Tasik Biru Bau Fiesta, Anielia Siam.
