KUCHING: A 54-year-old housewife is at her wits’ end after a peeping tom took pictures and also video recorded her while she was taking a shower in a bathroom near her house at Taman Sukma, Jalan Sultan Tengah here on Thursday morning.

The woman said while she was taking a shower she heard noises and when she looked up she was shocked to see two hands holding a mobile phone and aiming it at her face.

The woman screamed and after putting on her sarong went outside but no one was around.

She told police that she was worried her photos or videos of her taking a shower would go viral in the social media. Police are investigating the case.

In an unrelated case, a 32-year-old salesman from Taman Sukma decided to check their mother’s house at Kpg Semariang Batu yesterday with his elder brother but they were shocked to find a stranger in the house.

The salesman reported that when they entered the house at 1am, they saw the house gate and door opened. A man unknown to them was inside and when they asked why he was there, the man claimed that the complainant’s mother had asked him to look after the house.

However, the man immediately left the place.

After a thorough check of the house, the two brothers discovered that nothing had been taken away. Nevertheless, they decided to lodge a police report in case the stranger was lying.

In another case, a bank at Jalan Upland was broken into and electric cables, wiring and five units of air-conditioner cooling system were taken apart and carted away.

A bank staff who lodged a police report said they had yet to ascertain the loss incurred.

Police are investigating.
