KUCHING: Many celebrants are planning to celebrate Christmas in moderation.

Due to the rising prices of goods, some choose not to spend too much on the celebration and will buy only the necessary goods for their own Christmas open house.

Here, New Sarawak Tribune talked to some of the celebrants on their Christmas plans.

I am planning to go all out for Christmas this year because the celebration only comes once a year. My family and I will be having Christmas carolling/pre-Christmas exchanging of gifts besides decorating and Christmas parties. We will, however, only buy necessary things. I wish everyone a blessed and joyous Christmas.

I am not planning to go all out for Christmas, mainly because of my age. I will spend Christmas with my family. I hope it will be better this year than last year. I would probably spend more this time around if the prices of goods are reasonable and affordable.

I genuinely hope more friends and family members will go visiting this year. From my side, it will be a simple gathering but still merrier because I will celebrating it with my family. We will have a simple gathering and spend more on food instead of decorations.

Most likely, I will have a special Christmas dinner with my extended family. I may also go out with friends. I hope Sarawakians will embrace the joy of the Christmas holiday and spend quality time with their families and friends this festive season.
