KUCHING: In today’s fast-paced business environment, businesses must remain agile and innovative not only to survive but to thrive.

Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) president Kong Chiong Ung said more and more businesses realise that in order to stand out in the highly competitive market, they must continuously explore new methods and apply new technologies to improve their performance and competitiveness.

ACCCIS, in collaboration with the Kuching Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCGCCI), organised a two-day training programme entitled “ChatGPT for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs): Enhancing Marketing and Business through Artificial Intelligence” on Thursday (Nov 2).

Kong officiated the opening ceremony of the training course attended by 30 young entrepreneurs.

“Early this year, ACCCIS received grant of RM500,000 from Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, with the objectives of training and nurturing young entrepreneurs,” said Kong in a statement on Friday (Nov 3).

“Part of the funding was set aside and utilised for organising this course, which aims to empower small and medium-sized enterprises, with a specific focus on nurturing young entrepreneurs, enabling them to harness the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance their marketing and business capabilities.”

The advent of ChatGPT presents a transformative opportunity for enterprises especially the SMEs. As a cutting- edge AI technology, its applications transcend traditional customer services and communication.

The participants in this training programme are expected to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to leverage AI, thus ultimately rendering their businesses more competitive.

ACCCIS extends its profound appreciation to Abang Johari for his invaluable support and trust. ACCCIS is steadfast in its commitment to nurturing a new generation of outstanding young entrepreneurs, thereby contributing to the economic advancement of Sarawak.

Apart from Kuching, similar training sessions will also be organised for young entrepreneurs in Sibu, Miri and Bintulu soon.
