TVS to premiere “Guru Luar Biasa” documentary series on May 15

KUCHING: TVS is set to launch its documentary series titled “Guru Luar Biasa” (Extraordinary Teachers) starting May 15 which will be aired for six weeks on every Wednesday at 5.30 pm on Channel 122 Astro, Unifi TV, and MYTV.

The documentary aims to shed light on the pivotal role of teachers in shaping the future generation. With a heavy responsibility on their shoulders, teachers not only educate but also mould the thinking and character of tomorrow’s leaders.

The series shares personal insights into the sacrifices and commitment demonstrated by teachers, with one drawing from their own experience as the child of a former teacher.

“The documentary serves as a tribute to these extraordinary individuals who tirelessly work towards building knowledgeable and morally upright individuals,” according to a statement.

“Guru Luar Biasa” will feature the experiences of teachers who have served in schools across Sarawak. Viewers will get an intimate look into the joys and challenges faced by these educators as they undertake the noble task of educating the nation’s children.

The series will showcase stories of teachers from the Peninsular who have dedicated themselves to rural schools, as well as tales of local teachers in Sarawak who have inspired their students and achieved unexpected success.

The first episode will feature the story of Muhammad Tarmizi, better known as ‘Ustaz Spiderman’. Originating from Kuala Krai, Kelantan, this teacher has shown his perseverance in portraying the superhero character Spiderman, beloved by children.

All of this is done to pique the interest and boost the spirits of students at SK Kg Kut, Pulau Bruit, encouraging them to attend school eagerly to acquire knowledge.
