SERIAN: Two adults and a child survived a road accident after losing control of their compact multipurpose vehicle (MPV) this morning (Dec 16).

The State Fire and Rescue Operations Centre (Bomba) said it received a distress call at 9.01am regarding the accident at Kampung Stabun, Batu 37, Jalan Kuchin-Serian.

A spokesman for Bomba said a MPV crashed into a ditch on the side of the road after it lost control.

A team from the Serian Bomba station was dispatched to the location.

Three victims – the driver, a woman and a male child – were in the vehicle.

“The driver is a local man while the woman and the child are from Indonesia.

“Members of the public managed to get the woman and the child out of the vehicle while the driver was still trapped in the MPV,” Bomba said.

The injured driver, who sustained injuries to his hip, had to be extricated by the rescuers. The woman sustained head injuries.
