Two Baram villages hit by flood

MIRI: Two villages in Baram parliamentary constituency have been placed under watch after they are affected by flood following excessive rains since Tuesday.

The affected villages are Rumah Bunda, Mubuk Kelambu Uku Teru and Rumah Handry Gomis, Ulu Teru.

According to Miri Civil Defence Force office-in-charge Lt Frankie John Jawan, the floodwater trend at the affected areas had continued to rise up to one feet high as of 12.55 pm.

Villagers have been told to evacuate if the situation gets worse.

Today, a team of Miri APM personnel was mobilised to the affected villages for flood monitoring.
