Bintangor firefighters perform extrication works to free the pinned Viva driver along Jalan Kelupu.

BINTANGOR: Six persons including two children, escaped with minor injuries following a collision along Jalan Kelupu here on Saturday.

The victims comprised a family of four persons who were travelling in a Perodua Viva car and two occupants of a Honda City car.

All of them, aged between nine and 69, only sustained minor injuries in the 5.30pm accident.

A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Department said firefighters from Bintangor station were promptly dispatched to the scene after receiving an alert.

Upon arrival, the team performed extrication works using specialised tools to free the Viva driver who was pinned to his seat.

After about an hour of hard work, the 36-year-old driver was finally freed and handed over to paramedics for medical attention.

Meanwhile, the remaining five victims were successfully rescued from the vehicles by passersby.

All of the victims were taken to hospital for further treatment.
