KUCHING:  Internationally-acclaimed speaker Ustazah Yasmin Mogahed gave a two-day public lecture here on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

The first lecture with the theme “Trials & Tribulations: Our Path to the Most Merciful” was held at Dewan Kompleks Islam, Jalan P. Ramlee on Tuesday.

The second with the theme “Remember Me, I Will Remember You” was held at Tun Abang Salahuddin Islamic Centre (PITAS), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) yesterday.

Organised by Islamic Information Centre (IIC) Sarawak in collaboration with PITAS and AlMaghrib Institute (Malaysia), the objective of the event was to promote and deliver an Islamic information as well as spur understanding of Islamic to the multi-races and multi-religion of community in Sarawak.

Yasmin is a well-known international Islamic graduate with a Degree in Psychology and Master in Journalism and Mass Communication from University of Wisconsin Madison.

After graduating, she taught Islamic studies and served as youth coordinator. 

She also worked as a lecturer in literature at Cardinal Stritch University and a columnist in the Muslim section of the InFocus News.

She was also one of the instructors at AlMaghrib Institute, author of the Huffington Post, an international speaker as well as a full-time author, where she focused most of her work on personal development and spirituality.
