KUCHING: Two homes were destroyed by fire in separate incidents at Kota Sentosa and Kampung Sebenyis.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
In the first incident, the state Fire and Rescue Operations Centre was alerted to the fire at 10.42pm last night (Dec 20) at Lorong Liu Shan Bang 3C in Kota Sentosa.
A Bomba spokesman said the house was razed to the ground by the time firemen from the Batu Lintang and Tabuan Jaya Bomba stations arrived.
“Fortunately, the occupants were not at home when the fire occurred,” he said.
Firemen completed their operations at 11.41pm.
In another incident, the Siburan Bomba station received an emergency call at 5.35am early this morning (Dec 21).
The fire occurred at Kampung Sebenyis, Jalan Kuching Outer Ring Road in Siburan.
“By the time the firefighters reached the scene the house was razed to the ground.
“However, no lives were in danger. The firemen proceeded to extinguish the fire with water from the fire engine and a nearby water source,” the spokesman said.
They completed their operations by 7.20am
The cause of the two fires and loss of property are still being investigated.
