PANTU: Two men were injured when the Proton Wira they were travelling in collided with a trailer lorry at KM 49 Sri Aman-Kuching Road on Wednesday night.

Sri Aman District Police chief, DSP Othman Sulaiman said the victims were Stanley Dunstan, 56, from Kampung Abok Janang, Pantu and Jacob Sunang, 38, from Kampung Issu, Pantu.

He said in the 9.10pm incident, the victims were heading towards Kuching from Sri Aman when their car suddenly went out of control and crashed into the trailer lorry, which was travelling on the opposite lane.

Othman said the car driver, Stanley, who was pinned to his seat following the crash sustained leg injuries while Jacob suffered facial injuries.

He said both men were taken to Sri Aman Hospital for treatment.

Othman said police were investigating the case under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
