Two suspected illegal immigrants under arrest during Ops Belanja.

KUCHING: A total of 13 individuals were inspected during ‘Ops Belanja’ in Kota Samarahan with two arrested on suspicion of being illegal immigrants.

Acting on complaints and intelligence gathering, the “Ops Belanja” was conducted by the Kuching Immigration Enforcement Division (BPI) at a supermarket in the Kota Samarahan yesterday (Apr 26).

Meanwhile, on the same day, the Sri Aman Immigration Enforcement Unit (UPI) arrested a foreign individual through an operation codenamed “Ops Selera” at a food premises in Lubok Antu town, Sri Aman.

Immigration officers arrest an individual on suspicion of living and working in Malaysia without a valid document.

The individual is suspected of living and working in Malaysia without a valid document.

The case is being investigated under Section 6(1)(C) and Section 15(1)(C) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 as well as Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963.

The public is advised to report the presence of undocumented immigrants to the nearest Immigration Office or through online channels.
