MIRI: There are no specific discussions on any ministerial posts for the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) representatives (as yet) during a meeting with the newly-elected Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, revealed Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
On Sunday (March 1) evening, Uggah along with Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg flew to Kuala Lumpur to meet Muhyiddin.
“Nothing specific (referring to the meeting with Muhyiddin at his residence),” he pointed out.
When asked further why there were no any discussions (on any ministerial posts), Uggah said it was just too early.
He however, refused to divulge further on the details (of the meeting) and quipped “You better ask Chief Minister,” to local media.
Uggah was met yesterday in Long Bedian at the earth breaking ceremony of the Highland Development Agency (HDA) in the area. Long Bedian is located about 200km from Miri city.
On GPS’ relationship with the Perikatan Nasional formed by Muhyiddin, Uggah said GPS is taking “friendly” approach in order to cooperate with the party.
“We are not in that group (Perikatan Nasional), we just cooperate,” he emphasised.
In responding to a question on Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chien Jeng’s willingness to cooperate with GPS prior to Muhyiddin’s appointment as prime minister, Uggah just smiled and asked, “Do you trust him?”
