KUCHING: A delegation from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak branch has explored collaboration with the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry.

It was among the issues raised during a courtesy call by UiTM to Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri recently.

The UiTM delegation was led by its campus rector, Professor Datuk Dr Jamil Hamali.

Several matters were discussed which included UiTM’s proposal on organising halal management programmes in Santubong, of which Nancy is MP.

“It also included forming strategic cooperation in social development programmes involving the elderly, children, persons with disabilities as well as the involvement of UiTM Sarawak branch’s alumni and students with the departments and agencies under the ministry.

“The ministry is always committed to realising and supporting every provided perspective, as well as exploring collaboration opportunities that focus on target groups,” the ministry said in a Facebook post on Monday (Sept 25).

The aim of the visit was also to inform Nancy on the programmes to be organised in conjunction with the celebration of the 50th Golden Jubilee of UiTM Sarawak branch as well as to invite the Minister to the Homecoming Dinner UiTM Sarawak branch scheduled for Oct 15.
