UiTM Sarawak gets Blue Ribbon Certificate

KUCHING: University Technology Mara (UiTM) Sarawak branch Samarahan Campus 2 recorded history for being the first Institute of Higher Education in Borneo to be awarded the Blue Ribbon Certificate. 

The presentation of certificate was held at Marriot Hotel, Putra Jaya, Sepang Utura on Nov 22 in conjunction with the Blue Ribbon Award and Recognition by the Malaysia Health Promotion Board (MySihat). 

UiTM Sarawak rector Prof Datuk Dr Jamil Hamali was present to receive the certificate from Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

The annual Blue Ribbon campaign recognises and honours individuals, organisations and communities who have made significant contributions to the protection of the public from tobacco smoke exposure. 

This is in line with the obligation under Article 8 of the World Health Organisation Framework Convention on Tobacco-Control (WHO-FCTC) which was signed by the government in 2003.
