KUCHING: It’s really important to let people know about the dangers of unregistered health products, so they can make informed choices and keep themselves and their loved ones safe.

Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said that it is timely for the Aram Berambeh Farmasi 2023 programme to address the pressing issue of risks related to buying unregistered pharmaceutical products online.

While online shopping is convenient, we shouldn’t ignore the potential risks, Dr Sim said.

According to him, unregistered products don’t have proper safety, effectiveness, and quality regulations, so they can be very risky.

Dr. Sim said this during the launch of Aram Berambeh Farmasi 2023 at Vivacity Megamall today (July 15).

He also explained that instead of helping with medical conditions, these illegal products can make the condition worse, cause serious side effects, and sometimes even lead to death.

The programme is a two-day event organised by the Pharmacy Services Department, Sarawak State Health Department, and Syarikat Techno Secure Print (TSP) Sdn Bhd, taking place from July 15 to July 16.
