MIRI: The Civil Defence force (APM) deployed three personnel to a house in Kampung Muhibbah Kuala Baram on Saturday evening to remove a hornets’ nest from the premises.
According to APM Miri officer Usman Harto, after receiving a distress call from a 47 year-old house owner, three APM personnel led by Sergeant (PA) Robert Joanes went to the house at 5.59pm.
“When they reached the house they were told by the female house owner that the hornets were building their nest under her roof.”
He said the woman’s neighbour had spotted the nest earlier that day and informed her of the nest. Fearing for her family’s safety, she immediately called up the Miri APM for help.
The hornets were removed safety in less than 20 minutes.
