KUCHING: United States Ambassador to Malaysia Kamala Shirin Lalkhdhir paid a courtesy call on the Head of State (TYT), Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud at the Astana here, yesterday.
Lalkhdhir, who replaced former US Ambassador to Malaysia Joseph Yun in October last year, is on a four-day official visit to Sarawak with the objective to foster closer cooperation between the US and Sarawak in various fields.
Lalkhdhir also made courtesy call on Tanjong Datu State Assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu at her Damai Jaya residence, yesterday morning.
The purpose of the visit was to pay respect to Jamilah as the wife of former Chief Minister, the late Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem.
The US Ambassador was acompanied by Frank Whitaker and Ravindran Manickam.
