SIBU: Miri and Sarikei Volleyball team successfully qualified to the national level Government Servants Welfare and Sports Council (Maksak) Volleyball championship after they won the State level Maksak Volleyball championship held at Sibu Indoor Stadium on Sunday. Miri won the women category while Sarikei won the male category. Second and third place for women category was won by Sarikei and Sibu while Bintulu and Kapit claimed the second and third place for the men’s.
In his closing remarks, Sibu Resident Charles Siaw, who is also Maksak Sibu chairman hope that the two teams that represent Sarawak will play brilliantly in Kedah. “The performance of the players during the championship in Sibu make me proud and I believe that our player will make our state proud in national level,” he said. The two teams will represent Sarawak in the National level Maksak volleyball championship held in Kedah from March 22 to 25.
