Wan Junaidi keen on state wide familiarisation tour

KUCHING: Sarawak governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar is set to embark on a series of tours across the state.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information, and UKAS) Datuk Abdullah Saidol said the upcoming tour aims to bring Wan Junaidi closer to the public by highlighting his caring and compassionate nature towards the people.

“Wan Junaidi is keen on organising this tour, and currently, we are in the planning stages of the tour programme.

“Our goal is for this tour to provide a platform for the public to gain a deeper understanding of his character,” he said.

He made this remark when met by reporters after paying a courtesy visit to Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi at the Astana Negeri Sarawak here yesterday.

Abdullah Saidol added that Wan Junaidi was eager to explore all corners of Sarawak, particularly the remote areas with diverse ethnicities and beliefs.

“As the Head of State, Wan Junaidi is dedicated to fostering unity among the people, who comes from various backgrounds, and lead all communities in Sarawak,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Abdullah Saidol also extended a formal invitation to Wan Junaidi and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, to attend an upcoming dinner in conjunction with National Journalists’ Day (HAWANA) on May 26, which will be graced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Also present during the press conference were UKAS director Samuel Simon, Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak chief executive officer Ali Suhaili, Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) president Ronnie Teo, and UKAS deputy director Joachim Paggang Jabong.
