KOTA SAMARAHAN: The first part of ‘Duduk and Tonton’, a film screening programme by cinematography students of University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) was held recently.

This was the first of a five-part series of the programme prior to the UNIMAS 20th Mini Film Festival in July this year.

Mohammad Anas Mohd Sadon, an assistant programme director for the festival said ‘Duduk dan Tonton’ is for people to watch and discuss about the films from previous festivals.

“Usually when going to the cinema, people just leave as soon as the movie ended, but here at ‘Duduk dan Tonton’ we want people to sit and discuss about the films. That is our uniqueness,” he said.

“The Mini Film Festival will be held for three months and along those three months, we do ‘Duduk dan Tonton’ to promote and to attract audience for the real festival.

“By doing so, we will have audience that already know us from the first ‘Duduk dan Tonton’,” he said when interviewed.
