LUNDU: Residents here will soon have adequate and clean water supply with the implementation of 22 projects worth RM223.8 million.

In a statement, the Tanjung Datu Community Service Centre said currently, the projects were in various stages of implementation by both the federal and state governments under the Projek Rakyat, Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) Project and many more.

It added that these initiatives would also provide continuous water supply through the Lundu District Water Supply project and Sarawak Alternative Water Supply System (Sawas) project submission for Kampung Pugu, Kampung Sekambal Melayu, Kampung Selarat and Kampung Matang Terap.

Assistant Utilities (Water Supply) Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi visited the Lundu District Water Supply project and officiated at the Sawas project handover at Kampung Pugu, Kampung Sekambal Melayu, Kampung Selarat and Kampung Matang Terap last Saturday (Nov 27).

“Folk in Tanjong Datu are very fortunate for being the direct beneficiaries of large-scale development projects which have been implemented by Gabungan Parti Sarawak that have boosted the dynamic progress in the constituency,” he said during his briefing.
