KUCHING: Puncak Borneo incumbent Datuk Willie Mongin will continue to commit himself to his political party and be in line with Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
He asserted that he is committed and devoted to the party and to the people, regardless of whether chosen to stand in the coming 15th General Election (GE15) or not.
“I am sincere to my struggle and I want to make sure everybody benefits and I work for the people to bring prosperity and bring more development”, he said.
He said this in a press conference after officiating the Pesta Lada 2022 at a hotel here today (Oct 29).
“I am a party man, and I devote myself to the party’s struggle for a better Sarawak and a better Malaysia”, he added.
Willie pointed out that he is also honest to his work and if given the chance, he will continue to give his best in serving the people.
Meanwhile, Willie also commented that other politicians who are labelled as ‘political frogs’ are still accepted by the people, with some performing better than those who are devoted to only one party.
“I am not changing parties for monetary gain, so don’t believe what people are saying”, he said.
He added that the people should have a say in deciding who to vote for.
Willie previously won the Puncak Borneo constituency under the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) ticket before joining Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) on August 6.
