KUCHING: The Sarawak-China Friendship Association (SCFA) launched a Short Video Contest on Saturday (Apr 27), which will run until July 31.

The contest commemorates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China and the 30th anniversary of the Chinese Consulate-General in Kuching.

The contest, themed “50 Years of Glory, and Beyond,” offers a grand prize of over RM10,000.

“Everyone is welcome to participate. There are no age or nationality restrictions, and no registration fee is required. However, members of the organising and working committees are not eligible,” said Secretary General of the SCFA, Kho Swee Aik.

Participants can submit their videos via a Google Form link provided by the organisers.

Each video must be an original work and not plagiarised.

Eligible entrants will also be entered into a lucky draw, with three winners each receiving a round-trip airfare and accommodations for a trip to China, each prize valued at RM6,000.

These prizes are for individual winners, are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash and are valid until April 30, 2025.

The top winner will receive a cash prize of RM15,000, a certificate and a round-trip travel package to China.

The first runner-up will receive RM10,000 and a certificate, while the second runner-up will be awarded RM8,000 and a certificate.

Additionally, consolation prizes of RM1,000 and a certificate will be awarded.
