MIRI: Imagine waking up early in the morning and going to the bathroom only to come face to face with a snake rearing up.

That’s exactly what a shocked woman in Vista Perdana Permyjaya here came across – a half-metre-long cobra in her bathroom at around 5.30 this morning (Feb 8).

The 38-year-old woman discovered the reptile after a loud hissing noise when she was about to use the toilet.

The agitated snake appeared ready to strike and the occupant did the right thing by slowly backing out of the bathroom and alerting the Civil Defence Force (APM) for help.

APM personnel who rushed to the house after receiving a call at 5.55am took about 10 minutes to capture the poisonous reptile.

It was later released to its natural habitat.
