Women group run to raise funds


KUCHING: The Sarawak Federation of Women’s Institutes (PPWS) is organising a Black Pink Run to be held at Metrocity, Jalan Matang here on March 21.

Its Kuching/Samarahan exco member Hamdiah Mat said the programme was aimed at increasing the association’s funds and helping its members to generate extra income.

In addition, it also aimed to strengthen relationship among the community as well as to encourage active participation among PPWS members in sports activities.

“As of Wednesday (Jan 15), we have received 500 entries through the JomRun application, and this run is limited to 1,500 participants only.

“The Black Pink Run event is divided into two categories, 5km and 3km, starting at 6am and 6.30am respectively,” she told a press conference here, yesterday.

She said early bird registration fee (for 5km category) is RM50 while normal registration fee is RM60 per entry.

For the 3km, early bird registration fee is RM40 and RM50 for normal registration fee.

Those interested in joining the event are advised to register through the JomRun app until March 12. “PPWS would like to thank Lea Centre, LimeTree Hotel, City Joggers Club (CJC) and Carya Collective Company for sponsoring this event,” added Hamdiah.
