TATAU: A wooden house at KM28 Jalan Kuala Tatau was destroyed by a fire yesterday afternoon.

Bintulu Fire chief, Di-Hatta Gobel said ten personnel with a fire engine from Tatau fire station led by PBT Muhammad Jusoh were deployed to the scene after they were notified of the incident by members of the public.

He said when the firefighters arrived at the scene the fire had already engulfed the entire wooden structure.

Di-Hatta also said the firefighters used water from the fire engine to douse the flames.

It was reported that five people comprising a husband and wife and their three children were staying in the house.

At the time of the incident, four of them were in the house while the other was at school.

The estimated loss and cause of the fire are still being investigated.
