World Quran Hour scheduled for Wednesday

World Quran Hour 2023 organized by Sarawak State Library

KUCHING: The State Library is organising World Quran Hour 2023 which will be held on April 13 (Wednesday).

According to a press release, the programme is a collaboration with Rumah Ngaji Sarawak and will be held at Masjid Darul Hana, Jalan Tun Salahuddin.

“The main goal of the World Quran Hour is to encourage the community to interact with the Al-Quran through reading, understanding and doing charity; work on the noble values that can be learned from the surahs in the Al-Quran and to form a way of life based on the Quran; and to build a legacy based on the Al-Quran in order to build a virtuous and compassionate nation and world.

“For the year 2023, Surah Al-Insan has been chosen with the theme “Humanising the Ummah” through the Humanising the Home, Humanising the Workplace, Humanising the Nation and World agenda,” it said, Tuesday (April 4).

Various programmes will be held on the same day, among them Tadabbur Surah Al-Insan by the Sarawak Mufti and ‘nasyid’ and ‘qasidah’ performances.

Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication (Utility) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi is expected to officiate at the programme.

It can also be watched live via the library’s Facebook and YouTube platforms from 9am to 12 noon.
