MRC Miri visits needy families to donate aid

MIRI: Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Branch has visited two unfortunate families with poor socio-economic background in Tudan Desaras.

MRC Miri Branch Welfare, Health & Community Sub-Committee chairperson Dr Uma Devi led a group of five volunteers to donate supplies and necessities to the families.

They brought along English story books for the children to read, milk for babies and others as well as stainless-steel food containers distributed to the family members as part of the exercise to stress on the dangers of plastic containers.

Dr Uma delivered a short talk which covered dangers of plastics, importance of cleanliness and healthy food to educate the family members.

MRC Miri Branch said the stainless-steel food containers were donated by a group of anonymous donors and expressed their appreciation to them for the donation.
