Youths should have deep understanding of MA63: DCM

LAWAS: The establishment of Malaysia and the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) should be understood by Sarawak youths in order to ensure that the interests and rights in the state continue to be defended.

According to Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, the youth have to be aware that they will be the leaders in the future.

“The youths must have a deep understanding about the rights of Sarawak enshrined in the MA63.

“With the understanding of MA63, we will be able to guarantee the future and Sarawak will be preserved as enshrined in the agreement,” said Awang Tengah.

He said this while officiating at “Today for Tommorow’ Youth Transformation” ceremony held in Lawas this morning.

On a related matter, Awang Tengah called on Sarawakian youths, especially youths in Lawas to dare to change their fate and accept challenges.

“Courage and determination are the keys to success and I believe it can change your fate towards a better future,” he added.

The three-day event saw the participants taking part in various programmes.

Also present at the ceremony was Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agong.
