10 active clusters identified in Miri

MIRI: Ten active Covid-19 clusters have been identified in this division so far. 

In a statement today, the Miri Divisional Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC) said they were the Lunyim cluster (186 cases), the Miri Tembok cluster (410), the Lemua Bridge cluster (26), the Mega Suai cluster (244), the Sungai Menok cluster (42), the Jalan Lembah Hijau cluster (74), the Mas Sawai cluster (162), the Jero Gelasah cluster (15), the Ladang 0004 Kuala Baram cluster (39) and the Ladang Hijau cluster 01 (27).

Three of the clusters were detected today. They include the Jero Gelasah cluster with 15 positive cases. 

For this cluster which was detected on August 27, 133 people were screened while 118 people are still waiting for their results.

Another new cluster is the Ladang 0004 Kuala Baram, also detected on August 27 this year. It involved an oil palm plantation. 

Of the 165 people who were screened, 39 including the index case were positive while 125 were negative. One is still waiting for the test result.

Meanwhile, the Ladang Hijau Cluster 01 is a workplace cluster   declared on August 28. It also involved an oil palm plantation.

Of the 260 people who were screened, 27 including the index case were positive while 27 were negative. 206 people are still awaiting their test results.

The MDDMC said that all these areas had already been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO). 

All positive cases were admitted to the hospital or Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC) in Miri or Bintulu for further treatment, isolation and monitoring.
