1,067 needy families receive food aid

LAWAS: The Bukit Sari state constituency service centre has distributed emergency food aid to 1,067 needy families from nine villages across two zones to help ease their burden following the extension of the movement control order (MCO).

The essential food assistance was sent to 409 recipients from three villages in Zone Punang and 658 recipients from nine villages in Zone Jalan Punang.

According to secretary of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Bukit Sari branch Awang@Ibrahim Ahmad, the food aid was commended by deputy chief minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan who is also Bukit Sari assemblyman.

Awang said the aid was distributed to village headmen since yesterday.

It is learnt that the distribution process was in the second phase; there are altogether four phases.
