MIRI: Twelve children have been issued Individual Temporary Document without Citizenship (DSITKS), highlighting the importance of these documents for each recipient, despite the relatively small number of applicants in the division.

During the handover ceremony on Tuesday (June 6), Sarawak Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah stressed the significance of these documents.

“The DSITKS grants the holder access to education and healthcare services in Sarawak,” she said.

The Dalat assemblywoman added that official receipts issued for citizenship applications under Article 15A of the Federal Constitution can be utilised for school admission and accessing healthcare services at clinics provided by the Sarawak government.

The ceremony was also attended by Fatimah’s deputies Datuk Rosey Yunus and Mohamad Razi Sitam, ministry permanent secretary Noriah Ahmad, Sarawak Social Development Council executive secretary Dr Zufar Yadi Brendan Abdullah, and Miri District officer Siti Rohanie Yusof.
