120 food baskets distributed at Farley Supermarket

KOTA SAMARAHAN: One hundred and twenty food baskets were distributed during the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) Community Pantry Programme at Farley Supermarket here on Sunday.

The Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Sheda) chairman and organising chairman of the programme, Datuk Sim Kiang Chiok, said 50 food baskets would be distributed every day at the supermarket starting at 3pm.

“They will be distributed in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and inside them will be good wish notes from donors who helped in the programme.

“This assistance is an on-going effort to help those in need during this Covid-19 pandemic and today, together with MPKS chairman Datuk Peter Minos, 150 food baskets were distributed to households.

“I hope Sarawak will achieve 80 percent herd immunity by August this year and that our economic sector will recover with the opening of more businesses and services,” said Sim.  

Anyone who wishes to get a food basket can come to any of the 12 Community Pantry counters located at Farley Supermarket, Aiman-Mall, E-mart Supermarket, H&L Supermarket, LePaPa, Unaco, Choice Supermarket, Everwin Supermarket, BB Supermarket and  Everise  in Kota Samarahan, the four branches of Sen Sen Supermarket located at Sama Indah, Desa Ilmu, Batu 17 and Serian and eight CS Supermarket branches at Mile 7,9,17, Serian, MJC Batu Kawa, Muara Tuang, Jalan Wan Alwi and Metro City, starting at 3pm from July 4 until July 12.

RM25 per basket for those who want to fund the Community Pantry Programme.
