1,500 new ‘tanglungs’put up at Sibu temple

SIBU: A total of 1,500 new ‘tanglungs’ or lanterns were put up in the surroundings of the Sibu Tua Peh Kong temple.

The lighting and putting up of lanterns and other decorative items will be done in conjunction with the lunar year of the boar 2019, nightly from 7pm to midnight until “Chap Goh Mei”, the last day of the Chinese New Year celebration.

Chairman of Sibu Muncipal Council Datuk Tiong Thai King who is also Dudong assemblyman officiated at the lighting ceremony at the temple on Monday night.

Chairman of Sibu Tua Peh Kong temple Penghulu Soon Choon Hoo and the temple deputy chairman Soon Choon Kui were among those present at the lighting up ceremony conducted on Monday evening.
