KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 160 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (April 19), pushing the cumulative total to 304,142.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) disclosed that 157 cases were Category 1 and 2 while three cases were Category 3, 4, and 5.
“Kuching recorded the highest number of cases at 49 followed by Bintulu (35), Miri (21), Samarahan (11), Sibu (10) and Serian (five).
“Four cases each were reported in Mukah, Sri Aman and Julau, three cases in Dalat, two cases in Pakan and Betong.
“One case each in Sarikei, Lundu, Lawas, Saratok, Asajaya, Kabong, Tebedu, Bau, Kanowit and Meradong.”
SDMC added that there were no Covid-19 related deaths and clusters reported.
In terms of non-compliance to standard operating procedures, Kuching police issued compound notices to six individuals for failing to register with the MySejahtera app before entering premises.
This brings the total number of compounds issued to 13,875 so far.
