BINTULU: A fatal head-on collision along Jalan Chin Lee Garden here claimed the life of a motorcyclist after he landed on the roof of a multipurpose vehicle (MPV) this morning (July 2).
The victim is identified as Sylvester Donny Herry, 21.
It was reported that the accident happened around 1am near the Bintulu Public Works Department (PWD) traffic light junction.
Firemen from Bintulu station were rushed to the scene after being alerted to the incident.
Upon arrival, they found that the victim was unconscious on the roof of the vehicle, and they proceeded to bring him down.
However, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, and his body was handed over to the police for transportation to the hospital.
The MPV driver, on the other hand, did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team concluded the operation and departed back to their station.
