SIMANGGANG: A total of 23 families in Rh Bandi Sebangkoi were given food aid as they were under a lockdown due to formerly being a Covid-19 cluster.

Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis witnessed the handing over of aid by Simanggang Community Service Centre and SUPP Simanggang Branch to the families involved.

“We understand the difficulties faced by the residents after the lockdown order was issued so we channel food aid to alleviate the burden of the residents involved,” they said in their statement.

The food aid for the residents was received by Tr Bandi Lapeh, Cr Gerunsen Nyelang and several longhouse residents.

This shows that the state government under Gabungan Parti Sarawak always prioritise the welfare of the people.

There was a lot of assistance given to the residents in form of cash and subsidies as well as moratoriums and it is hoped that the people are aware of the government’s aspirations which carries the slogan People First, Achievement First.

“To curb the Covid-19 transmission, the government had now entered the vaccination phase. The people who are eligible for the vaccine were encouraged to register through MySejahtera application or register manually through Tuai Rumah.

“The national and state leaders have displayed an example as the earliest group to receive the vaccination and that it is safe,” said Harden.

Harden reminded the people who are vaccinated to continue with the new norm lifestyle.

“This is for the safety of everyone, not only it can curb the Covid-19 transmission, it can also prevent any other forms of infectious diseases from spreading,” he added.
