23,000 students to benefit from Covid-19 prevention kits

KOTA SAMARAHAN: In safeguarding students from the Covid-19 pandemic, Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang recently handed over Covid-19 prevention kits at 50 schools in the districts of Samarahan and Asajaya.

This contribution is expected to benefit an estimated 23,000 students in the two districts. 

The prevention kits contributed to the schools consisted of face masks, sanitisers, and body temperature scanners which will be used during the schooling session.

The contribution is part of Rubiah’s initiative to assist school management in dealing with the Covid-19 situation once the teaching and learning session begins in schools.

The handover was done during a brief ceremony via a drive-through at the compound of the Samarahan District Education Office on Tuesday.

Rubiah said the schooling session which began earlier this week should be conducted according to the new normal and she also urged schools to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students.

Earlier, she also visited the Samarahan District Education Office which is operating in a new location near the Tun Abdul Razak Teachers Education Institution.

Also present were Samarahan Education officer Sapawi Mahdi and his deputy Yazid Rajali.

At the event, Sapawi expressed his appreciation towards the Kota Samarahan MP for always providing support to the development of the community’s education, especially in Samarahan.
