281 children honoured at KEMAS event

SIBU: The Appreciation Ceremony for KEMAS Preschools P.212 Sibu, held today (Jan 20) at the Islamic Complex, celebrated the achievements of 281 preschool children from the Department of Community Development (KEMAS) for the academic year 2023-2024.

Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing, and Local Government, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, emphasised the importance of the event in promoting healthy competition in academics and extracurricular activities among young learners.

“This ceremony is not just an acknowledgment of the efforts of our teachers and children but also a celebration of the talents our children display through stage performances,” he said in a speech read by Kapitan So Teck Kee.

Tiang also thanked parents for their unwavering support and guidance, which he credited for the children’s ability to excel and compete effectively.

Also present were KEMAS Sibu Division Officer Ami Fariza Mat Jusoh, KEMAS Kanowit Division Officer Siti Jauwyah Ismail, and others.
