BAU: A total of 300 people attended the Jiwa Murni Pacific Partnership 2017 – community health outreach and community relationship programme held at Kampung Suba Buan here on Wednesday.

The programme is part of the Pacific Partnership 2017 activities held jointly with the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and several countries such as the United States of America, Australia and Japan.

Tasik Biru Assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep, is undergoing a free health screening.

Tasik Biru Assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep who officiated at the opening ceremony of the programme said Bau has the potential of becoming a big town in the next ten years as various areas in the district were being developed and transformed.

“This transformation is in line with the government’s desire to develop rural areas in this state,” he said.

He added that apart from the development, Bau is an ideal stopover location for visitors who are going to Lundu, Sematan, Serikin and other nearby areas.

“The development of infrastructures and communication facilities such as roads will make it easier for visitors to visit this town and attractions in this district,” he said.
