KUCHING: Corporate Affairs Assistant Minister Abdullah Saidol distributed 340 packets of “bubur lambuk” to students and staffs of SK Batu Lintang here on Thursday.

The event was organised by Saberkas Batu Lintang as part of Saberkas’ programme for the fasting month of Ramadan.

“It’s a heart-warming gesture and effort to participate in this programme, even though most of their members are non-Muslims.

“It truly shows a sincere sense of tolerance, acceptance, unity and togetherness, which is still very much embraced among us Sarawakians.

“This kind of programme is important for us adults to show the younger generation the meaning of humanity, compassion and friendship,” he said.

Abdullah also gave a RM2,000 grant to Saberkas Batu Lintang to hold its activities.

Also present were Saberkas Batu Lintang chairman Kapitan Patrick Tan and SK Batu Lintang headmistress Sa’diah Bakar.
