KUCHING: Awards will be given to 368 students and 14 teachers in 14 selected Chinese secondary schools in the state involving a sum of RM58,000.
The selected Chinese Secondary Schools are Chung Hua Middle School No.1, Chung Hua Middle School No.3, Chung Hua Middle School No.4, SM Min Lit Batu Kawa, Serian Public Secondary School, Catholic High School (Sibu), SM Wong Nai Sing (Sibu), Citizen Middle School (Sibu), Kiang Hin Middle School, Guong Ming Middle School (Sibu), Ming Lik Secondary School (Sarikei), Riam Road Secondary School (Miri), Pei Min Middle School (Miri), and Kai Dee Middle School (Bintulu).
They are among students and teachers who will be getting recognition for academic and teaching excellence under the MagnumCares Academic Motivation Award (AMA) across the country.
This year cash awards amounting of RM435,000 are being made available to 60 Chinese secondary schools, benefiting 2,600 students and 60 teachers with each of them receiving a MagnumCares AMA’s certificate and trophy for their hard work and achievement in school.
Chief Commercial Officer of Magnum Group Datuk Chan Chee Fai said the MagnumCares Academic Motivation Award has touched the lives of many students over the years.
“The complex challenges of our future cannot be solved without nurturing a suitable foundation of their education.
“Hence, Magnum will continue to encourage and provide a platform for them to grow.
“This award celebrates the school institutions, teachers and students, with the mission of awarding passionate teachers who pursue their passion beyond the classroom, and also the students who are inspired to succeed in academic, critical thinking and extracurricular activities,” Chan explained.
