SIBU: The Azman Hashim Foundation, Amcorp Group has donated food packs to some 2,000 households staying at Sibu Jaya HDC Garden Terraces and four-storey flats here.

The donations—part of the group’s corporate  social responsibility—included 10kg rice packs, instant noodles and eggs.

Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) chairman Sempurai Petrus Ngelai was delighted with the group’s effort to help during this trying time.

“This is not the first time that the Azman Hashim Foundation and Amcorp Group have contributed to the needy. Previously, they had donated sanitisation packs.

“It’s heartwarming for me as chairman of SRDC to see corporate organisations coming to the aid of the needy.”

He added: “While the government has been offering support, any assistance from any source will also be helpful, especially to the underprivileged group.”

Sempurai also expressed his thanks to contractor Happiwin Development Sdn Bhd, Sibu Jaya Zone councillors Kong Yii Tee and Halimah Japar for providing manpower and logistics for the transportation and distribution of the food packs.
