MUKAH: Two local men were arrested by police on suspicion of abusing drugs at Jalan Mukah-Selangau on Saturday (Jan 22).

The two suspects were found positive for amphetamine after a urine test was conducted on them.

District police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias​said the first arrest involved a 32-year-old unemployed man who was detained in front of a house in Jalan Selangau-Mukah around 11am.

“The results of our inspection found that the suspect had a small transparent packet containing a lump of crystal believed to be methamphetamine weighing 0.43 gram in the front right pocket of the suspect’s shorts.

“Meanwhile, the second arrest involved a 36-year-old security guard who was detained in front of a security hut of a plantation company in the Jalan Selangau-Mukah area around 12.30pm the same day,” he said in a statement on Sunday (Jan 23).

They also found a transparent plastic packet containing crystal lumps suspected to be methamphetamine weighing 0.85 grams in the suspect’s right hand.
