Abang Jo visits nomination centres to support GPS candidates

SIMUNJAN: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today (Nov 5) went on the ground to show support for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for Batang Sadong, Rodiyah Sapiee.

Rodiyah is among a number of GPS greenhorns who are poised to face their maiden election in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).

Joining nearly 5,000 party leaders and members, the GPS chairman made his way to the Dewan Mesra Simunjan here to rally with Rodiyah before she proceeded to file her nomination papers.

They are made up of 600 supporters from Sadong Jaya, 1,800 from Simunjan and 1,400 from Gedong.

Abang Johari, Rodiyah, Naroden and Aidel together with supporters reciting prayers before proceeding to the nomination centre.

At the same time, former Gedong assemblyman Datuk Naroden Majais, Sadong Jaya assemblyman Aidel Lariwoo and Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris were also present to give support to Rodiyah.

Later on, Abang Johari made his way to the nomination centre located at Institut Kemahiran Mara Kuching at 9:15am to support the party’s Santubong candidate Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

He then proceeded to visit the nominations centre at Dewan Al-Muneera, SMK Petra Jaya.

The Premier was greeted by Petra Jaya incumbent Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof who filed his nomination papers.

Also present were Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki, Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman and Samariang assemblywoman Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.
