KUCHING: A Facebook posting claiming that the chief minister had called a federal minister penipu (liar) has proven to be incorrect.

When fielding questions during a townhall session in Lundu on Sunday, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said he did not use the word penipu.

“An audio recording (of the event) can confirm this,” said a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office yesterday.

At the townhall, Abang Johari demanded that Putrajaya repair the state’s dilapidated schools as soon as possible.

According to him, the state government last month remitted RM350 million in part payment of its RM1 billion debt to the federal government as demanded by the Finance Ministry which will use the money to repair the schools.

Some 1,020 schools throughout Sarawak are categorised as dilapidated, and of that figure 415 schools are “very dilapidated”.
