KUCHING: The ASEAN Bintulu Fertiliser (ABF) Sdn Bhd has received its fire certificate following a successful inspection and audit to ensure compliance with fire safety requirements for premises.

The certificate was presented by BOMBA Sarawak director Datuk Khirudin Drahman to ABF managing director and chief executive officer Lawai Jok at the Sarawak BOMBA headquarters on Thursday (Feb 29).

Khirudin said the issuance of the fire certificate was in accordance with the Fire Service Act 341, 1998, which establishes the regulatory framework for fire safety standards and procedures in Malaysia.

“Under this legislation, establishments such as ABF are mandated to obtain a fire certificate, demonstrating adherence to fire safety regulations.

“This certificate signifies that the premises have undergone inspection, and necessary fire safety measures are implemented to mitigate the risk of fire outbreaks and spread,” he said.

The Sarawak BOMBA director highlighted ABF’s 40-year operational history and lauded the company’s commitment to environmental protection and community safety throughout its operations.
